Since its founding in 1901, the LC Smith College of Engineering and Computer Science (LCS) at Syracuse University has been leading the way in educating engineers and computer scientists, creating new knowledge and technologies and anticipating the evolution of the field. With a strong history of preparing leaders from around the globe, our research-centered college allows students to take advantage of the breadth and depth of our engineering and computer science education and research. Graduate studies are central to our research programs. We offer outstanding opportunities for full-time and part-time graduate study in biomedical and chemical engineering; civil and environmental engineering; electrical, computer engineering and computer science; mechanical and aerospace engineering, and engineering management. There are several institutes and centers that contribute to the research enterprise of the college including the Center of Excellence in Environmental Systems, The NYSTAR Awarded STAR Center for Environmental Quality Systems, the CASE center, the SU Biomaterials Institute, the Center for Systems Assurance, SU’s Industrial Assessment Center, the Geofoam Research Center and others.

We offer generous financial support for graduate students and our flexible schedule allows you to apply for admission for the fall or spring semesters (Master's applicants only.)

We invite you to take a closer look at our programs! You will see why we believe that SU LCS is the right place at the right time for graduate studies. Opportunities abound for your continued professional and personal development in our classrooms and research labs; through industry experiences; through engagement with other schools and colleges on campus, including the Maxwell School of Public Affairs and Citizenship, the Whitman School of Management, the School of Architecture, the iSchool and SU’s College of Arts and Sciences; and, through interactions and new friendships with the members of our community of faculty and graduate students.
