Tesseract School is an educational leader in the Phoenix metropolitan area, preparing students to excel in college and beyond. Founded in 1988, Tesseract School is:
- An independent, private day school committed to the development and education of students from preschool through 12th grade.
- A non-denominational and co-educational institution, serving more than 400 students from Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, Phoenix and surrounding communities.
- A dedicated non-profit organization fully invested in pursuing our mission, values and goals, and in recruiting and retaining outstanding educators.
With small class sizes and low student-teacher ratios, we foster a true love for learning, encouraging students to explore their interests and passions—all within safe, supportive surroundings.
Our innovative educational approach creates an environment in which students master the basics while also presenting them with opportunities outside the classroom to apply what they are learning to the real world. Along with our commitment to academic excellence, our “whole student” approach to teaching promotes social, emotional and intellectual development, and challenges our students to be fully and actively involved in their education. In short, learning comes alive for every student, every day.
True education flourishes when students are fully engaged. To achieve this uniquely involving educational dynamic, we focus on four key elements:
Student-Centered Approach - Understanding our students and teaching how they learn by allowing them to make their own connections, to process and retain information in a way meaningful to them, so they can comprehend concepts at their own level.
Multi-Dimensional Assessment - Measuring the progress of our students — and the effectiveness of our teaching — with assessments that provide feedback on the depth of learning and recognize that students learn differently.
Integrated Curriculum - Treating the full spectrum of subject areas — from math to foreign language, science to the arts — not as separate and isolated topics but connected as part of a well-rounded, multi-sensory, experience-based education, nurtured in the classroom, on field trips and through hands-on activities.
Biological Revolution - Keeping education social, stimulating learning through collaboration and creating a synergy that involves every student as part of an interactive, organic learning environment.
Like Tesseract School’s academic program, our summer program reflects our commitment to a student-centered educational approach that engages and challenges students. With our thematic, innovative Summer Learning Adventures we provide fun, educational programs for students in preschool through 12th grade.
Throughout the year Tesseract also offers extended day care, Homework Club, and many interesting and fun after-school activities—including team sports—and classes as part of the enrichment program.
Tesseract School wants every student who will benefit and thrive from a Tesseract education to be able to attend this extraordinary school. Tesseract awards need-based financial assistance to families to help offset tuition costs, enabling us to assist qualified, accepted applicants. In addition to financial aid, in keeping with its commitment to academic excellence and its whole child approach, Tesseract offers a variety of scholarships in the following areas: science, mathematics, humanities, foreign language, performing and visual arts, leadership, technology and athletics.
