The National Heart Centre Singapore (NHC) is the national and regional referral centre for cardiovascular disease. We provide comprehensive one-stop services for patients with heart, lung and chest problems through our clinical services, teaching and research activities.
NHC has the largest number of internationally qualified cardiovascular doctors in Singapore. Our expertise in
managing highly complex cases is evident in our good success rates, which are comparable to international standards. Our doctors constantly introduce cutting-edge treatment in NHC to benefit our patients. One recent notable achievement was the Percutaneous Aortic Valve Replacement, a minimally invasive procedure to treat patients with narrowed aortic valve who are considered as a high-risk patient for the conventional open-heart valvular surgery. We have also achieved many ‘firsts’ in Singapore and region and this reaffirmed our position as the leading heart care provider.
As an active research and development centre for cardiovascular diseases, the centre has recently made a breakthrough with stem cell therapy in the treatment of heart failure using its patented process of transforming stem cells into cardiac-like cells. The reputation of NHC as a premier cardiac facility in the region has also attracted cardiac device and pharmaceutical companies to partner us in clinical trials.
NHC is also the first heart hospital in Asia to receive the prestigious Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation, a testament of the high quality care and excellent outcomes the centre offers to its patients at a competitive rate.
